SBS (Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene) is a polymer that has been used in the modification of asphalt, both in its paving and for certain industrial applications. The increase in the use of SBS in asphalt is due to the improved results compared to conventional asphalt.

The main results are a longer shelf-life, a lower maintenance cost and, mainly, greater safety for users, since asphalt with SBS has a better drainage characteristic in its composition, reducing the number of road accidents. Markets such as the United States and Europe already use SBS asphalt because of these characteristics.
